jasmine raised an eyebrow and pulled her knees to her chest. "walk? where do you live?" she herself wasn't sure if higher sonica was a walking distance away from romula, considering she had never known the outside of it, but she had definitely heard a lot about the city throughout her fourteen years. it was all she heard about when she went shopping--apparently, the shops there were miles more exquisite than even the best ones here in romula; the streets sparkled and buildings stretched up until they were light years past the atmosphere. of course, those were exaggerations, but jasmine wanted to see just what in higher sonica caused those exaggerations to come about. but first things first--she wanted to know the outskirts of romula before skedaddling across gim.
jasmine looked over at cricket when he opened his mouth again. "oh, so you live in lower sonica,"
she realized, putting two and two together. she pursed her lips and smiled at his offer, but couldn't help thinking, lower sonica instead of romula? are you serious? directly after thinking this, of course, she felt terrible, so she said instead, "oh, i don't think you'd like that... sure, this place is safe and all, but..." she bit her lip. "i've spent my whole life just completely rooted to this place. it gets boring fast."--- lyrics - SAVE YOUR BREATH, JARIKA ?! of caution; picture - pretty. odd of caution; words - 222; muse - fair; now playing - nothing; outfit - this.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

The forests in Romula were, and would probably always be, one of Cricket's favorite places to be. That list wasn't very long, though. It only included the spots on Gim where something new, exciting, or memorable happened. And in this case, that moment was meeting Jasmine. So yeah, he figured he would always remember their location by the creek.
It wasn't every day you met a spunky little girl that wanted someone to teach her how to kill things. To be honest, Cricket didn't have a whole lot of friends. Yeah, he was really friendly, but the only people who actually like him are family, and he doesn't count those as friends.
So meeting Jasmine was like a blessing; someone telling him that yeah, he's pretty cool. "Yeah, but I would take safe over boring any day. You can't have much fun in Sonica unless you count running for your life as fun."

"yeah, but i would take safe over boring any day," cricket told her. "you can't have much fun in sonica unless you count running for your life as fun." jasmine pulled the corner of her mouth up in sympathy. "what exactly goes on there, anyways?" unlike its higher counterpart, jasmine never actually knew what happened in lower sonica that made it so terrible. she just knew that it was a bad place, but no one really talked about it here in romula. at least, the people she hung around never talked about it. it was the one place she didn't have the greatest desire to explore, but then again, it had always made her curious. then there was the fact that curiosity killed the cat--in her case, the meerkat. and this meerkat wasn't too excited about dying.
the other place that no one really discussed around her was the void. jasmine was almost certain that evergreen had been there once, but if he did, he rarely talked about it, and when he did, it was only with rose. she had heard them talking several years ago when she was trying to sleep, and the only words she had been able to catch clearly were "the void." by the tone of her father's voice, it was obvious that he never wanted to go there again. and why should he? but there were a lot of things jasmine wasn't able to know yet. whatever happened in the past, though, was in the past--and if evergreen didn't like talking about that particular moment in the past, there was nothing she could do about it. it certainly wouldn't secure her a spot in her family's hunting team.

"Well right now, apparently some group of Ina chose lower Sonica as a good hunting spot.. They only come at night so my uncle doesn't let me or my cousins out a lot when it gets dark."
Cricket closed his eyes and leaned back, thinking of all the times he had snuck out of his house and almost got lost. It was scary as hell, yeah, but it was also exhilarating to him to know that if you turned around the wrong corner there might be something there that could kill you without hesitation.
"I've never seen them.. but we hear them sometimes at night. You know, when they're... hunting."

as cricket spoke, jasmine nodded, pursing her lips and staring out at the rushing creek. when he finished, she looked up at the sky and took note of the dark clouds closing out every bit of sunshine. "don't you think you should be getting home, then?"
she asked quietly. "not that i want you to leave or anything. it's just that... it's getting dark." it couldn't be more than a little after lunch time, but storms could cause the place to get really dark really fast. that was part of the reason jasmine loved them so much. she loved the bright as well, but the dark held so much more mystique. of course, after hearing cricket's story, the dark could hold things other than mystique. --- lyrics - SAVE YOUR BREATH, JARIKA ?! of caution; picture - pretty. odd of caution; words - 125; muse - fair; now playing - nothing; outfit - this.[/blockquote][/blockquote]

Cricket's eyes flew open as he registered Jasmine's words. Taking one look at the sky sent chills down his spine. If he didn't show up at home by night.. His aunt and uncle would surely be looking for him by now.
"Oh my God!" He exclaimed, jumping up onto his feet. "I-Uh, I better get home. It'll probably be darker by the time I get there.." He started to walk away from her, but caught himself. How rude would it be to walk away from somebody you just met? He spun around to face Jasmine again.
"This was fun. We should go hunting again sometime so I can show you some more stuff." And then he gave her a smile, turned toward home, and walked away.
[Lol is this over? :3]

cricket got up to leave. jasmine leaped to her feet when he turned to walk away. "wait!"
she called after him, picking her wrapped fish from the ground. "i just... i wanted to say thanks." she held up her catch. "for the fish." she laughed and smiled. "next time you're in town, look for me. i'll probably be out. there's barely anything to do at my house." she started walking to where he was, ready to go home as well. "i guess i should go home, too. so my parents won't worry or anything." jasmine would more than likely splash about in the rain sometime later, but she decided that she should tell her parents where she would be before heading out. she didn't want them to think she got lost in the rainstorm. "later, cricket." --- lyrics - SAVE YOUR BREATH, JARIKA ?! of caution; picture - pretty. odd of caution; words - 136; muse - fair; now playing - nothing; outfit - this.[/blockquote][/blockquote]
