What you should know first is that this RPG takes place on the planet of Gim, located somewhere outside the Milky Way Galaxy. Gim is ruled by super-secretive aliens that don't tell the citizens of the planet anything, so if you want to know what's going on you have to get the information yourself. And usually, you can only do that if you know who to talk to.
PAST ---------- Anyway, a long time ago, Gim was once really peaceful and everybody got along. But then some new rulers came into power and they started to get into fights with people on other planets. This eventually led to a massive war between Gim and another stronger planet, and everyone thought Gim would lose the fight for sure. But then somebody on Gim had this great idea to recruit soldiers from other planets, since Gim is very small in comparison to most places, and their population is relatively low. So ships were sent out to nearby planets to fetch potential fighters in the war. And it turned out that Earth was the closest available planet, even though it was in an entirely different galaxy.
Earth was an easy target for Gim. Despite their size, the planet had developed advanced technology and customs, so it wasn't that hard for them to overpower the population of Earth and take some humans with them. By the time they were done on Earth, there wasn't a single human left. So there was little Gim, fighting against Kore (a planet that was roughly twice their size) with a whole other race to fight alongside them. Of course, the humans weren't so happy with the war they were forced into, but it didn't matter much.
Gim ended up winning the war many years after they had invaded Earth, but they had to sacrifice a third of their population, including a lot of their humans. Kore was wiped out completely, so Gim took control of the empty planet by destroying the remains. The one thing that nobody knows, besides Gim's rulers, is that along with Kore, Earth was wrecked as well.
PRESENT ---------- It's been at least a hundred years since Gim's victory over Kore; nobody really keeps track now. Ever since Gim's rulers realized how powerful they were, things have been going downhill. Most of the human population is poor and starving, except if you got lucky somehow and you're living in the richer part of Gim's capital, Sonica. But not many humans live around that part of the planet.
Us humans like it where it's quiet, and the best place for that is either the countrysides or the poor part of Sonica. That's where almost every human lives. It's not pretty or anything, but it's better than nothing. Sure, buildings are dilapidated and kind of gross, but things weren't always like that. When the war first ended, humans were actually successful on their new home. But things just sort of fell apart over time.
Oh, and the rest of the aliens on Gim? Most humans don't really make any contact with them- none of us are completely sure why, but I bet the aliens know. I guess it's kind of weird calling them the aliens, since they were here first. We usually refer to the original people of Gim as the Natives, though there are a lot more kinds of species here. Humans, Natives, and aliens don't really mix. They tend to get into arguments over stupid stuff, so we don't even acknowledge them unless it's necessary.
But there's this one group of humans- they call themselves the Believers. Supposedly, their goal is to make a truce with the aliens and somehow return to Earth, but to the rest of the humans that seems ridiculous. Nobody's even spoken of Earth in ages. But the Believers have their mind set on it, and it doesn't seem like anybody's going to stop them. I don't think anybody in charge of Gim (The Natives) even knows they exist. But with the progress they've been making, it doesn't look like that will be the case for much longer.
FUTURE ---------- So as you can see, there's been a heck of a lot going on with Gim. And with the tension rising between humans and the Natives, the threat of a civil war breaking out is always lingering. The Believers, on the other hand, are supposed to be bringing peace to the planet, but only to return the humans to Earth. How long will this last, and will the rulers of Gim stand for it? We can only wait and see. [/size]
